Why a healthcare summit with the Repubs, since the Dems will attend with a "final bill" ready?

It's a trap - they want to be able to say "We tried, but they are just obstructionists". They will not put one single Republican idea into their package, and even if they do and p some watered-down version (for public scrutiny), they will continue to get everything they want by back-door tactics. (You know, Czars, regulatory committees, etc). Remember what Pelosi bragged "If the gate is closed, we'll pole vault over it - if we can't do it that way, we'll parachute in". You don't think she was talking about exercise, now do you. She blatantly said that they will get their radical, extreme, completely government-controlled garbage of a health reform system, no matter what.
