Should Congress p a resolution officially making a new word in the American English dictionary to replace--?

No, Congress shouldn't dictate or regulate speech in any way. If someone is offended by being called a , they'll be offended no matter what term is used to describe their irrational fear of behavior. It's been my observation that most people who oppose uality don't do so because they have a fear or concern about people being per se. It's more a matter of their fear that open uality will somehow degrade society. They wouldn't have a problem with it as long as gay people remained in the closet and lived an outward life that conformed to their version of normal. Many honestly believe that ual attraction is a choice, yet they can't point to the moment in time at which they chose to be attracted to people of the opposite . Changing perception isn't as simple as changing a word. Sort of like changing the use of the word "terrorist" to "enemy combatant" didn't change the opinion most people have of the actions of people who commit acts of terror.
