You can project the image from a telescope thru a window onto a screen in a dark room. Tracking the sun accurately requires a special motor-driven mirror in front of the telescope, with the telescope pointed either at the pole star or directly opposite the pole star. For any detail other than fuzzy sunspots, you will need special color filters.
