Should i get an acoustic or electric guitar??

It totally depends on what kind of music you like/and want to play,you need to pick which one is more closely ociated with what you like to play,because even the mistakes that you make while learning can become inspirational to you.imagine,a metal lead on an acoustic guitar.but then again try to picture learning clean clical fingerpicking patterns on an electric with high gain.in both cases it would be self destructive and limiting.most people say start with an acoustic,because you don,t have to worry about string noise and ringins as much,but i think that its an error.when you do have to worry about controlling those parameters it forces you to develop your control,but thats my opinion,lots of luck.
