What are some future developments in S/W and H/W for tracking devices within ICT?

Basically using a GSM based GPS tracker you can do this job. I did it as a project during my degree. Basically you just put a SIM card inside the GPS Tracker and attach it your vehicle. It will periodically send SMS to a predefined number. And you can track.You can use a SMS receiver which you can attach your Computer. The receiver's come with their own API. So you can easily program to decode the SMS and make a web based interface to show it or something. Hope it helps.
