Is it safe to have in a hot tub?

My boyfriend and i have just been having in his bed. we really want to try something different. we both agreed that doing it in the hot tub would be really y. its that safe? im on the birth control pill and he always wheres condoms. but is it safe to go it in the hot tub. help please..
